Day 0: starting a public build log

"How do you know your SEO is working?" — a candidate client asked us last week. We decided to stop explaining with slides and just show the whole thing.

Background — starting from zero

The bbd.sh domain just went up. As we write this, Google doesn't know us and we have no backlinks. That's the honest starting line for any new site, and we won't pretend otherwise.

Why publish — not a marketing stunt

We've done SEO, brand, and growth on different projects over the years — always quietly. Then clients had to take our word for it based on a few numbers in a deck. This time we're trying it differently:

  1. Transparency is marketing — peers can see what we do and the result. More convincing than any case study.
  2. It's content in itself — a real public record gets shared, which earns links naturally.
  3. It forces us to do it right — public means no shortcuts.

What we'll do

No grand promises. A short list of directions we'll keep working on:

  • Cover the technical SEO basics for bbd.sh (schema, sitemap, robots, llms.txt, SSG)
  • Get on the radar of Google, Bing, and the AI assistants
  • Keep publishing notebook entries — not marketing, build logs
  • Build out brand entities (Wikidata, social consistency, Crunchbase, etc.)
  • Publish real progress numbers regularly

What we won't do

  • No bulk AI-generated content
  • No paid backlinks / no PBNs
  • No keyword stuffing
  • No SERP CTR manipulation

Next

We'll keep posting notebook updates at a steady cadence and quality. Each entry: what we did this period, the real numbers, what's next. Subscribe to the newsletter or follow @bbd_sh if you want to track it.

"Watch us build. Win or lose — we'll publish either way."
